(09/19/2011) PASTORAL COUNCIL DISCUSSING CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER Fr. Vito Perrone, founder of the Contemplatives of
St. Joseph, upon knowing of the Pastoral Council’s interest in introducing a
deeper prayer life to our parish, suggested we listen to Father Thomas Dubay’s
lectures offered at the EWTN website. Fr. Dubay has “penned more than 20 books
on topics such as religious life, interior renewal, prayer, Carmelite
mysticism, Ignatian spirituality, spiritual discernment, religious authority
and … science and theology." There are 13 lectures on the authentic
Catholic method of contemplation. The series called Contemplation goes for
about 30 minutes per lesson. They are very rich with ideas for gaining a deeper
spiritual connection with Our Lord.
