ACOLYTES (MINISTERS OF THE ALTAR AND LEADERS)
Recruit Eucharistic
ministers, check for ushers, greeters, cross bearers, prepare the altar table,
portion hosts and wine to vessels, clean up after Mass and, in general, serve
to support and assist other ministers.

ALTAR SOCIETY
Collect soiled linens and take them home to launder and iron, returning them to
the church before the next Sunday's liturgy.

Lead the assembly in song during Mass.

CHOIR
Meets every Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. - 9:00
p.m. in the church, September through Pentecost, to rehearse for liturgical events that
are celebrated throughout the year. The
choir offers an open invitation to St. Peter Church parishioners and the
Pacifica community to join the choir family.
There are no auditions and no musical background is necessary. All are welcome.

ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE
Meets twice a year. Working with a partner, you commit yourself to a few hours,
every 6-8 weeks, to arrange plants and flowers for weekend liturgies.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Offer the Body and Blood of Christ to the community during Eucharistic
celebrations. Others also bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound.

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY
Welcome people coming to Mass, usher people to seats at appropriate times, take
care of collections, distribute bulletins and handouts, provide directions and
assistance to parishioners and visitors.

LECTORS
Proclaim the Word of God to the community.
Training is provided to new lectors.
Lectors are assigned to read at a Mass time of their choice, normally
once every one or two months. Some
preparation is required at home during the week. Resources include workbooks and Internet sites.

PRAYER READERS
Read the General Intercessions during Mass.

SACRISTANS
Prepare the church for the major liturgical events (Christmas, Holy Week,
etc.,) and for the weekend liturgy one Saturday per month. Teams of two are
welcome.

OUTREACH TO THE
SICK AND ELDERLY
Parishioners visit the sick and elderly, pray and bring the Eucharist to
residents of Linda Mar Care Center weekly (except the week when Mass is offered
- see Schedule of Services) and, upon
request, to residents of Ocean View, Casa Pacifica, Pacific Oaks and Sun Valley
Chateau. Home visits are also available
upon request.
Receive calls from
people seeking domestic or medical help.
Hospital visits to parishioners.
Transportation for
Sunday Masses for Seniors without transportation.
